Growth Coaching for Service Providers

For freelancers, consultants, creative professionals, small agency owners, and independent experts who want to build a stronger, calmer, more profitable service business. Attract better clients, charge with more confidence, and run your business with less chaos.

You may be good at web design, SEO, writing, branding, photography, consulting, marketing, development, content creation, or another creative or professional service, but that doesn’t mean that the business side is easy. Pricing gets confusing, clients push boundaries, scope creep eats at your time, your income goes up and down, you second-guess proposals, and then you wonder if you should raise your rates, fire a client, hire help, specialize, build products, or change directions completely.

I have gone down all of these roads and come out on the other side. And so, that is where I can help.

I provide business growth coaching and mentorship for freelancers, creative service providers, consultants, digital professionals, and small agency owners who want to make better decisions and build a stronger business. Working with me, you’ll benefit from practical, direct, experience-based guidance from someone who has been working in freelancing, pricing, web, SEO, teaching, psychology, and online business for decades. You won’t be getting generic motivational clichés or empty advice.

Experience you can actually use

I built my first website in 1997 and became one of the early SEO professionals. I started as a freelancer, grew into a solopreneur, built brands, managed projects and teams, worked with clients in different industries, taught at the university level, spoke professionally, and helped other freelancers and business owners make better decisions. I’m the author of The Psychology of Pricing, a 400-page book on pricing strategy, value, confidence, and client psychology for freelancers and small business owners. I also wrote Search Visibility and AI for Business Leaders, which reached #1 in multiple Amazon.ca business categories. I also have another book coming out later this year for freelancers and business owners. In addition to the above, I’ve taught at McGill University and Boston College, and I serve as President of the Canadian Internet Marketing Association.

In other words, I’m not coming at this from theory alone. I bring together real freelance experience, business strategy, psychology, pricing expertise, SEO knowledge, digital marketing experience, and teaching ability. That combination matters when you need advice that is practical, honest, and specific to your situation.

You’re good at the work. But the business side is the problem.

A lot of freelancers and service providers start the same way. You get a few clients, do good work and people refer you. Then, suddenly, you have a business. But no one taught you how to price properly, manage difficult clients, protect your time, value yourself and sell your value, organize your workload, build recurring revenue, handle taxes, or decide what to do next. That’s when things can start feeling messy.

You may be asking yourself:

  • Am I charging enough?
  • Why do I keep doing extra work for free?
  • How do I deal with bad clients?
  • How do I stop clients from controlling my schedule?
  • Should I raise my rates?
  • Should I offer packages?
  • Should I specialize?
  • How do I get better clients?
  • How do I make more money without constantly chasing new work?
  • How do I create a more stable income?
  • Why am I working so much but not keeping enough profit?
  • Should I stay solo or build a small team?
  • What should I do when I feel stuck, isolated, or overwhelmed?

If these questions sound familiar, my coaching can help you get clarity faster.

What I help with

Every freelancer’s situation is different, but common coaching topics include:

Pricing and proposals

We can review how you price your services, how you explain your value, where you may be undercharging, and how to present your work more confidently.

Client problems

We can work through scope creep, difficult clients, boundary issues, unpaid extras, weak communication, red flags, and situations where you are not sure whether to push back or walk away.

Business growth

We can look at ways to grow your freelance or service-based business without simply adding more stress. That may include better positioning, better offers, recurring revenue, productized services, partnerships, vendors, subcontractors, or a clearer niche.

Confidence and decision-making

Running a freelance or small service business can feel isolating. Sometimes you need someone experienced to help you think through a decision, challenge your assumptions, and tell you what you may not be seeing.

Workflow and structure

We can look at how you manage projects, clients, communication, admin, deadlines, and your own time so your business feels less reactive and more controlled.

Marketing, positioning, and visibility

Because I have been working in SEO, websites, content, and online marketing since the 1990s, I can also help you think through your positioning, website, service pages, client messaging, AI approach, content strategy, search visibility, and digital presence.

Who this is for

This coaching is best suited for:

  • Freelancers
  • Creative service providers
  • Consultants
  • Web designers
  • Web developers
  • Web service freelancers
  • WordPress professionals
  • SEO consultants
  • Writers and content marketers
  • Branding and design professionals
  • Photographers and videographers
  • Social media and digital marketing professionals
  • Small studios and agencies
  • Solopreneurs
  • Freelancers preparing to go full-time
  • Experienced service providers who need a better direction

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out and that’s often the point. But you do need to be serious about making progress.

What coaching with me is like

I’m friendly, approachable, and easy to talk to, but I’m not here to waste your time with vague encouragement.

You can expect:

  • Honest feedback
  • Practical advice
  • Clear thinking
  • Direct questions
  • Real-world examples
  • Strategy based on experience
  • Help identifying what actually matters
  • Support when you’re stuck
  • Pushback when you need it

Sometimes you need reassurance or a better plan. At other times, you need someone to say, “No, that client is the problem,” or “No, you are undercharging,” or “No, that is not the priority right now.”

The goal is to help you make better business decisions, avoid expensive mistakes, and build a business that is more profitable, stable, and less stressful.

A modern version of mentorship

Years ago, people often learned a trade through apprenticeships, internships, and direct exposure to experienced professionals. Freelancers and creative service providers today rarely get that. They learn from YouTube, blog posts, courses, social media, trial and error, and painful client experiences. Those can all help, but they don’t replace having someone experienced look at your specific situation and help you think it through. That’s what this coaching is designed to provide.

You bring the questions, problems, decisions, and goals. I bring experience, perspective, strategy, and honest feedback.
